It can be used as filling agent for fruit growing paper and seedling mold casting container. A domestic enterprise uses low-quality diatomite raw materials and is used to manufacture fruit growing paper after special pretreatment. It is said to have a good effect of heat preservation and moisture retention and promoting fruit growth. The modified diatomite filled seedling raising paper mold casting container is used for agricultural seedling raising. It is said to have the effects of sterilization, slow application, heat preservation, moisturizing and promoting plant growth. It can be applied to filter paper (board) filler.

Diatomite has been widely used as a filler for alcohol, beverage, food, medicine, oral liquid, purified water, industrial oil filter element and fine chemical filter paper or paperboard with special purification requirements. Filling diatomite in filter paper can effectively improve the clarity and filtration efficiency of filtered liquid. Diatomite filler modified with silver or other compounds with bactericidal (inhibitory) function can produce filter paper and paperboard with bactericidal (inhibitory) function.
