Application of diatomite in beer production

Diatomite filter aid has been used to filter beer for a long time. It has been widely used in China since 1980s. So far, all large and medium-sized breweries in China have used this process.

The beer processed by diatomite is white, fine and durable, and the beer taste is more pure and light. It can make the finished beer less than 0.35 (EBC units) and reduce its wort loss and alcohol damage.

With the improvement of beer production technology, filtration technology, equipment and the quality of diatomite filter aid, the unit consumption per ton of wine of diatomite filter aid has decreased from more than 2kg 10 years ago to about 1.2kg.

Application of diatomite in soy sauce production

After the soy sauce is naturally precipitated, diatomite is added for filtration. Through centrifugal detection, there is no visible precipitation in the products filtered by diatomite, while the precipitation of the products not filtered by diatomite is the size of soybeans.

The soy sauce sterilized by diatomite can be stored at room temperature for more than one year without preservative and external pollution. The total number of bacteria does not increase. Most bacteria (including Bacillus) in the soy sauce can be removed to ensure the hygienic quality of the product in the shelf storage period.

Application of diatomite in vinegar production

In the process of vinegar production by solid-state fermentation, diatomite filter aid can remove more than 90% of microorganisms (including heat-resistant Bacillus), with clear and bright senses. The product has no back turbidity after 12 months of storage and stable quality.

Compared with the original high temperature sterilization (80 ℃), this method has the advantages of stable product quality, good clarity, less energy consumption and simple operation. Moreover, it is economical and practical, and the cost per ton of rice vinegar is reduced by 11 yuan.

Application of diatomite in edible oil production

Diatomite has a very large specific surface area. It has been widely used in the decolorization and deodorization of edible oil, and has played an active and effective role in the dewaxing of edible oil.

Application of diatomite in the production of clear juice beverage

For the juice filtered by diatomite, most of the solid substances such as plant fiber, denatured colloid / protein in the juice are filtered. Under the condition of 6 ° - 8 ° BX, the light transmittance can reach 60% - 70%, sometimes even up to 97%, and the turbidity is lower than 1.2ntu, which greatly reduces the occurrence of late precipitation and flocs.

Application of diatomite in oligosaccharide production

In the oligosaccharide filtration process stage, diatomite and activated carbon filtration are combined in the middle of primary decolorization filtration and ion exchange, which can not only remove most impurities and improve product quality, but also reduce the amount of activated carbon and reduce production cost.
